hate someone that much doesnt help anyone. Your coming across as bitter about there positions in the industry. I hope not. You seem to be on your way up. It would be sad to see you waste that out of petty jelousy

if your asking me why i hate rodriguez with a passion then where have you been ? jsut do a back search on the archives of this forum and my name and youll see why, but as said thats with a passion ie im not going to shoot him or anything like that ! Chris Jones on the other hand is a different kettle of fish and he falls into a different catergory of people the british film industry dont need. Elliot grove is on the knife edge of that catergory too but i think i will admity im being a little unfair on that one.

im not bitter or jealous, why would i be ?
my two pence in general on Chris Jones and people like that is there sure making a damm good industry of low budget "guerrila" filmmaking, wannabes , the little guy, low budget courses and books and peoples dreams and inspiration" but there contribution to the British film industry as a whole ? nah.

as said i dont like facades, bullsh*t etc and chris jones is a prime exmample.

PS.Also id put money on it that if you were to spend just even an hour down on one of my sets you would learn fifty times more than going to one of there courses.

Is this Chris geezer a filmmaker or a writer of books and teacher of courses? It seems like he don't make no films no more, and if my memory serves me correctly he hasn't made any money from being a filmmaker and the cinema release his last film got was on how many screens?

I'm not saying I don't like him coz I've never met him but I thought I could smell some hero worship brewing and that really needs to be saved for the likes of people who make films not talk/write about them.

Except Barry Norman who is a god.

So does this chap still make films?

What I will say about Chris Jones and his female partner in crime whose name escapes me ... as I recall they dropped out of Bournemouth film school around 1992, trumpeting the phrase "Forget black lesbians in wheelchairs ... let's blow something up"

If he/they are making a living out of what they are doing, good luck to 'em.

But if you do a course, I can recommend one run by Bob Doyle at Panico Pictures, I did it in 1994ish and, although I'd already learnt all I needed by keeping up with how Lucas was/is making films, it reconfirmed a lot of what I thought -- ie I realised I knew enough already. Except perhaps the fundraising bit. But that's the bit I'm working on now -- by running my own business I'm hoping to become experienced in 'doing the deal' and no longer feeling intimidated by people in the industry who think they have power. Truth is, without ideas they are nothing anyway.

But I think Chance may be being a little harsh, but so what? He may not be making friends but he is making films. And despite all the fubars encountered he shows no signs of giving up. That gives him an above average chance of succeeding if you ask me.

Anyways, filmmakers come and go in generations. I do feel that Mr Jones has had his 15 minutes.
